What was required:
A pair of identical safes each comprising:
- 50mm Lead Shielding
- No radiation leakage
- Sturdy pedestal to raise to bench height
- Keyed alike
- Customer supplied critical dimensions
From the initial customer enquiry a CAD model was created. This model was then used by the customer to assess suitability of the proposed design and ultimately place the order all within 2 weeks. The design incorporated all of the customers requirements such as critical dimensions, options for shielding thicknesses, keyed alike and a solution to raise the safes to bench height for more comfortable access.
As part of Radi-Tech Ltd's committment to Green working, all parts and materials used in the construction of the safes are sourced locally where possible*. where this is not posssible, UK sourcing is used.
- A local locksmith was consulted for the appropriate choice of lock.
- A local laser cutters was used for the base material.
- A local industrial powder coater was used for the surface finish.
- A UK lead supplier supplied the lead shielding.
*local being defined as a 5 mile radius to Radi-tech HQ.
A close working relationship was maintained with the customer throughout delevopement to ensure the product was suitable and delivered in a timely manner. This included supplying projected weights to allow an appropriate assesment of the floor loading capability and completing fabrication early than scheduled to allow installation at the most convenient time.
The safes were part assembled at Radi-Tech before shipping allowing for a quick install taking less than one day.
